2 cups whole wheat flour
Water (as needed for kneading)
Salt to taste
2–3 tsp oil or ghee (for cooking)
Optional fillings: potatoes, paneer, or vegetables for stuffed parathas.
Method:
Make the Dough:
In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
Gradually add water and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
Cover and rest for 20–30 minutes.
Roll the Paratha:
Divide dough into small balls.
Roll each ball into a round shape using a rolling pin.
For stuffed parathas, add filling in the center and fold, then roll again gently.
Cook the Paratha:
Heat a tawa or skillet on medium heat.
Place rolled paratha on it. Cook until small bubbles appear, then flip.
Apply a little oil or ghee on both sides and cook until golden brown spots appear.
Serve Hot:
Serve with yogurt, pickles, or curry of your choice.
